The Voice Of COD
True identity: Admiral Sir Robert Marlin S Pike AlCi and bar.
Born in the 18th century, the only band member to be reincarnated as
himself
and despite appearances, the only Zombie in the band.
He was pressed
into the Navy as a 10 year old boy to be a chowder
monkey, worked his
way up to wailer, and later his contribution to the
Spithead mutiny saw
him promoted to the officer classes and it was his
outstanding effort in
staying away from Trafalgar which allowed Nelson
his victory and gained
a post of Admiral for himself.
He has toyed with various instruments from violin to bassoon, from
piano
to timpani, but boredom and the fact that he was the only one with
a drum kit
lead him to become a drummer. At first, he played rock covers,
then
avant garde jazz but sadly joined a prog rock band in the late 70's to
rediscover his 18th century roots.
After many trials in the rock circus and many fishwives and mothers in law,
(all motherfishers,I can tell you) he washed up at a really bad prog audition
and
ran into an old friend, the one and only Brine Sturgeon, who needed
help.
He had a project to record some songs and needed batter from Bob,
and naturally
Bob was pleased to provide it as he had no friends or any job
at that time.
This then was to become the primeval stirrings of evolution
which would eventually
result in Cod.
Later Brine begged Bob to stop battering for Cod as he had a relation who
was better,
but he offered the post as voice of Cod to Bob. Some say his
whaling was almost like
dolphin speak or indeed whalesong, whereas his
guitar playing was second
only to his descaling technique.
